Donation Opportunities:
Help Change the Lives of Your Neighbors in the New River Valley

The Mental Health Association of the New River Valley is careful when it comes to spending any contribution. The administrative expenses for Fiscal Year 2003-04 were just 5.4 percent - 94.6 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to programs and services! Please remember, every donation is important and it does make a difference in our community. Membership

One of the easiest ways to give is through membership. You may choose from the following levels:

  • Student - $15

  • Individual - $25

  • Family - $40

  • Consumer (amount as able)

Bell Ringers:

  • Bronze - $100

  • Silver - $250

  • Gold - $500

Special Events/Sponsorship

The Mental Health Association conducts several events throughout the year. Volunteers and sponsors ensure that the event will be a success.

Gifts of Time

Gifts of time are very valuable to the Mental Health Association. Many programs would not be possible without the help of volunteers.

Gifts of Cash

Outright gifts of cash are always appreciated whether it is a one-time gift or you would prefer to be invoiced semi-annually or quarterly.

Gifts of Stock/Bonds/Mutual Funds

Gifts of stocks or bonds can provide income tax deduction opportunities, especially in the area of capital gains tax. Your local broker or legal expert can help you conduct this simple transaction.

Gifts of Property

Gifts of property can provide you with a significant tax deduction. Gifts of property include real estate, residence and/or personal property. Please consult a tax advisor or legal expert to learn about the immediate tax benefits.

Gifts of Insurance

Gifts of insurance are often overlooked, but naming the Mental Health Association as a beneficiary is a unique way to support us.

Honorary Gifts

Donations to the Mental Health Association may be the most appropriate way to celebrate a special occasion such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, graduation or retirement recognition. They can also honor the accomplishments of someone close to you. Please consider making this meaningful gift.

Memorials

The death of a friend or family member is a time of grief, remembrance and recognition. Our organization can help you establish a memorial fund honoring your loved one. In appreciation of establishing a memorial with MHANRV, we will provide memorial cards (upon request) and a list of donors to ensure they are properly thanked.
